As several residents geared up to cast their vote in today's scheduled election for Chief Secretary, a curve ball was thrown their way when the Commissioner's Office released a statement saying that the elections would be postponed until further notice.
When asked why, the Governing Commissioner had the following to say; "We made a mistake scheduling them so soon. Not only did the prospective candidates not have a chance to properly campaign, but now we have learned that they (the elections) weren't even legal to begin with. This combined with criticism from both residents and the imperial government alike have led this administration to postpone these elections until we can get everything worked out and democracy is allowed to be represented with full effect". Until these new elections are had, acting Chief Secretary Tony Sweigart will continue in his position and the government has assured residents that "everything will be sorted out and elections should be held by the end of March". - TVT News, 2 March 2020

Elections raise questions2/27/2020 Pictured: "Newcomer candidate Leon Montan, running for Chief Secretary under the BLF" Central District: With elections only days away, candidates Leon Montan of the Bregusland Liberation Front and Tony Sweigart, running as an independent prepare to battle it out on the campaign trail. Both men, each wishing to win the up-for-grabs Chief Secretary Office represent a growing change in Bregusland, and more particularly, within Bregusland's culture.
Amongst the expected pomp and controversy, underlying currents of change sweep over debates as the future of the territory is repeatedly called into question. The two men running for Bregusland's highest office both hold drastically different views on where the colony should be headed, Mr. Sweigart is a pro-Austenasian with views more moderate than not. Mr. Montan on the other hand, is what many would consider a "radical". His primary platform stems from his desire to declare Bregusland independence. Now as both men ready themselves for the big day, one can only wonder, what could happen if either candidate wins?
